Methi leaves stir fry / Fenugreek leaves Stir fry / Vendhaya Keerai poriyal

Fenugreek Leaves are helpful for the diabetic persons . they help in lowering the blood sugar levels . These leaves have an medicinal effect in them,  and their use in cooking helps in controlling the sugar levels . The leaves taste bitter , so i combined them with lentils and made this recipe .

Ingredients:

  • Fenugreek leaves / Methi Leaves -1 bunch , Cleaned and chopped .
  • Moong dal - 4 tbsp
  • Salt-to taste
Tempering:
  • oil -2  tsp
  • Red chilli - 2 no slit
  • onion -1 no , chopped
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1/2 tsp

Preparation:
Wash moong dal and cook it to 80% by adding water .


Now add methi leaves to the dal   and allow it to cook till the leaves become soft .
Heat oil in kadai, add mustard, urad dal and red chilli and onions and allow it to cook until soft.


Now transfer the tempered ingredients  to the methi leaves and moong dal mixture and stir.


Serve hot with Steamed rice and a curry of your choice
