CHAYOTE FRY | HOW TO MAKE CHOW CHOW PORIYAL | CHAYOTE RECIPES

Chayote ( Chow Chow ) is a kind of Squash that can be used in making Indian curries or a simple Poriyal ( Stir Fry )  . Today's Post  Chayote Fry ( Chow Chow Poriyal ) is a simple , quick and a healthy stir fry Recipe made with Lentils . So now off to the recipe of Chayote fry ( Chow Chow Poriyal ) .

CHAYOTE FRY | HOW TO MAKE CHOW CHOW PORIYAL | CHAYOTE RECIPES


Ingredients:

  • Chayote ( Chow chow ) -1 number, chopped .
  • Moong dal - 4 tablespoon
  • Green chilli - 1 number , slit
  • salt-to taste
Tempering:
  • oil -2  tsp
  • Red chilli - 2 no slit
  • onion -1 no , chopped
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1/2 tsp

Method :


In a pan bring the water to boil add the moong dal and allow it to cook till it is 80% cooked.

 

Now add the chopped chayote (chow chow ) ,salt ,green chilli and little water and allow it to cook till the chayote ( chow chow ) become soft .


In another pan, heat oil add mustard, urad dal, allow them to pop and add the red chilli ,  chopped onions and stir and cook till onions become soft.

 

Transfer these contents to the  cooked dal and chayote ( chow chow ) and stir. Chayote Fry ( Chow chow poriyal ) is ready to serve .

Done ! Chayote Fry ( Chow chow poriyal ) is ready to serve .

This Chayote Fry ( Chow chow Poriyal )  goes well with Steamed Rice , Sambar and Rasam Recipes .
