STUFFED CABBAGE ROLLS RECIPE | LOW FAT RECIPES

Today's recipe is a easy recipe , "Stuffed Cabbage rolls "  made with cabbage and some mashed potato Masala stuffing . This is a Low fat recipe and the stuffed cabbage rolls can be best served as the appetizer .This is one of the best way to feed kids with cabbage as many kids dislike cabbage because of the smell . My kids absolutely loved this recipe . So now off to Today's post Stuffed Cabbage rolls Recipe .

STUFFED CABBAGE ROLLS RECIPE
STUFFED CABBAGE ROLLS RECIPE | LOW FAT RECIPES


Ingredients:

 For the stuffing :
  • Potato - 2 numbers , Boiled,   skin removed and Mashed
  • Oil - 1 tea spoon
  • Onion - 1 number , chopped
  • Tomato -  1 number , chopped
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tea spoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - To taste
For the rolls :
  • Cabbage 
For Frying : 
  • Oil - 1 tea spoon



Method : 

  • Heat oil in a wok . Add the chopped onion and tomato and cook till it become soft .


  • Add the Red chilli powder , Turmeric powder ,salt  and mix well .


  • Add the mashed potato and mix the contents well  to form the nice potato Masala . Allow the contents to cool down . Set aside .


  • The stuffing is ready . 

  • Now lets get started with the cabbage . 

  • Take water in a heavy bottom pan . Add salt and bring the contents to a boil .


  • Dip the cabbage in the boiling water for 2 minutes till the cabbage is 50 % cooked .


  • Allow the cabbage to cool down . Remove the leaves from the cabbage . Take one leaf .


  • Spoon a potato Masala on the cabbage leaf in the middle of the leaf . 


  • Roll them and pin the ends of the leaf with a tooth prick .


  •  Heat one tea spoon of oil in a wok .  Now lets get the cabbage leaf cooked in the wok . Add the Stuffed cabbage rolls on a wok and cook on a medium flame till cabbage leaf  it becomes golden brown on one side .
 .
  • Flip it to the other side and cook  the stuffed Cabbage rolls  on both sides . 


  • Stuffed Cabbage rolls are ready to be served . Enjoy these cabbage rolls with ketchup .

Notes :

  • The Stuffed Cabbage rolls could also be baked in oven at 350 F for 30 minutes and be served instead of frying .

HOW TO FREEZE BELL PEPPERS ( CAPSICUM )

How to Freeze Bell Peppers ( Capsicum ) - This is a simple post with step wise pictures that helps in storing  large quantities  of Bell Peppers in freezer and use it later  .  The Spring Season is on air , Yet the east Coast is still in winter .  I am planning to plant few Bell peppers this year too , My kids Akshita and Nishita are planning to sow few seeds as well .  Cant wait for the spring to start and get back to gardening . So now off to Today's post How to Freeze Bell Peppers .

Preparation Time : 10 minutes | Cooking Time : 3 minutes | Recipe Category: Freezing Tips 

Ingredients:

  • Bell Peppers
  • Water



    How to Freeze

    Method :


    • Take the colored Bell peppers .  Chop them in to medium sized pieces , Discard the seeds . Wash them in water .




    • Next step is blanching . Transfer them to a hot boiling water . Let it stay for 3 minutes .




    • After 3 minutes , Filter them .




    • Run them in a cold water immediately . Do not Cook the Bell peppers . Pat them dry .  Spread them on a plate.




    • Place the plate on the freezer for one hour . After one hour remove them from freezer .




    • Now separate all the sticking pieces and transfer to Ziploc bag .




    • Seal them and label them with date and freeze the Bell peppers .




    • Use the Bell peppers as needed in making your favorite recipes .

    Notes:

    • The Blanching is a very important process in freezing the bell peppers , as this process kills the active enzymes and help in storing them fresh for a long period .
    • I used these frozen bell peppers for up to Two months . They were healthy , fresh and flavorful

    CHICKEN POTATO CURRY RECIPE | CHICKEN RECIPES

    Chicken Potato curry is a Simple Curry  made with chicken and potatoes cooked  with fresh ground ingredients .This curry goes well with steamed rice , Rotis , Parathas and Dosa and idlis .  So now off to Today's post Chicken Potato Curry Recipe .

    CHICKEN POTATO CURRY RECIPE | CHICKEN RECIPES


    Ingredients:


    • Chicken - 250 grams , Skin out , cleaned and chopped
    • Potato - 2 numbers , Skin peeled and diced in to cubes 
    • Onion - 1 number , chopped
    • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
    • Salt - To taste
    • Oil - 1 tablespoon

    To Grind : 

    • Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
    • Whole red chilli - 6 numbers
    • Coriander Seeds - 3 teaspoon
    • Pepper Corns - 1 teaspoon
    • Cumin Seeds - 2 teaspoon
    • Tomato - 1 number , chopped
    • Yogurt - 1 tablespoon

    Method :

    • Take the grinding ingredients in the Mixer .


    • Grind them to a puree by adding little water . Set aside .


    • Take the pressure cooker and add oil . Now add the chopped onions and cook till they become brown in color .


    • Add the chicken , Salt and Turmeric powder and mix .


    • Now add the ground Masala paste and fry till the raw smell goes away .


    • Add some water and bring the contents to a boil . At this stage add the Diced Potatoes.

    • Cover with the lid and pressure cook the contents for 2 hisses . Chicken Potato Curry is Done !.


    • Done ! Yummy chicken Potato Curry is ready be served .

    ALOO MUTTER GRAVY | ALOO PEAS MASALA RECIPE

    Aloo Mutter , Aloo peas - Potato Peas Masala recipe is a simple , quick recipe that goes well with roti , Pulka , or parathas .  This recipe is made in a jiffy . So now off to Today's post Aloo Mutter Recipe ( Potato Peas Masala ) .

    Preparation Time : 10 minutes | Cooking Time : 20 minutes | Recipe Category: Gravy | Recipe Cuisine: North Indian


    Ingredients:

    • Oil - 1 tablespoon
    • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
    • Onion - 1 number , Chopped
    • Green Chilli - 2 numbers , slit
    • Tomato - 1 number , Diced
    • Ginger Garlic Paste -  1 tea spoon ( Click here  to view the recipe )
    • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
    • Red Chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
    • Potato - 2 numbers , Skin out and chopped
    • Peas - 1/4 cup
    • GaramMasala Powder - 1 teaspoon 
    • Water - As needed .
    • Salt - To taste

    Method :

    • Heat oil in a Wok . Add the cumin seeds and allow it to splutter .


    • Add the onions and green chillis and stir . cook till onions become soft .


    • Add the Tomato and cook till they become mushy . Add the turmeric powder , salt .


    • Add some red chilli powder  and mix . Now add the Ginger Garlic Paste .


    • Add some  Water and bring the contents to a boil . Now add the potatoes and cook till they become soft .


    • Now add the peas and cook till they become soft .


    • Add the garam Masala Powder and Mix well .


    • Cook till the gravy becomes thick and till the oil separates out from the curry .


    • Aloo Mutter ( Peas ) Masala is ready to serve . Serve this Aloo Mutter Masala recipe with  Steamed Rice  and  Parathas.
