Easy Potato Curry | Aloo Sabzi | ( No onion , No Tomato , No Garlic Recipe )


Easy Potato Curry Recipe
Easy Potato Curry / Aloo Sabzi / ( No onion , No Tomato , No Garlic Recipe )


Ingredients:

  • Potato - 3 no , boiled
  • Kasthoori Methi Powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - To taste
To Grind:
  • Yogurt - 1 cup , beaten
  • Gram Flour - 2 tsp
  • Garam Masala - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
  • Corriander Powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder -  1/2 tsp

To Temper:

  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon Stick - 1 no
  • Cloves - 3 no
  • Fennel Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp

      Aloo Sabzi , No onion , No tomato , No Garlic Recipe


       Method:

      Cut the Boiled Potatoes . Sprinkle little salt and set aside .



      In a mixer add the contents under to grind column  ( yogurt , gram flour , turmeric, red , corriander powders , garam masala )  to the mixer .


      Grind it to a paste by adding water . Set aside .




      Heat oil in a shallow pan , add the mustard seeds and allow to pop , add the cumin seeds , fennel seeds , cinnamon stick , cloves and fry for few seconds .



      Add the ground masala paste to the oil . Add some water , salt  and cook in medium flame  till oil floats on top .




      Throw in the potatoes , kasthoori methi powder and simmer the contents for 15 minutes .


      The gravy becomes thicker in consistency , turn off .




       Serve hot with Roti , Puri , Paratha .

      Homemade Tortillas / Vegan Tortillas Recipe / Flour Tortillas



      Ingredients:

      •     All Purpose Flour - 3 cups
      •     Baking Powder - 1 tsp
      •     Oil - 1 tbsp ( I used Canola oil )
      •     Steaming hot water - As required
      •     Salt - to taste




        Method:

        Bring the water to boil  .




        In a mixing bowl , sieve the  flour and baking powder together . Add some oil, salt and mix  with hand .




        Pour in the steaming hot water and knead in to a soft dough . Use a spatula to do this , because the hot water may hurt your hand .



        Set aside the dough for 30 minutes .


        Make tiny balls of the dough and roll out in to a thin sheet


        Heat the griddle , and cook the tortilla on both sides.



         These tortillas  were super soft and delicious .



        The tortillas could be allowed to cool , stack it and freeze it OR as soon it is cooked put these in a zip-lock bag and close it immediately and let these stay air tight and then refrigerate it .Microwave for 30 seconds and reuse it if taken from refrigerator .

        Prawns Curry / Eral Kulambu / இறால் குழம்பு


        Prawns Curry / Eral Kulambu / இறால் குழம்பு


        Ingredients:

        • Prawns - 20 no , peeled and cleaned
        • Onion - 1 no , chopped
        • Tomato - 1 no , chopped
        • Garlic Pods - 8 no 
        • Green Chilli - 2 no
        • Red chilli Powder - 2  tsp
        • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
        • Oil - 1 tbsp
        • Salt - to taste
        • Coconut - 1/4 cup , grated
        • Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp 

            Method:

            Heat oil in a wok . Add the sliced onions , garlic pods , green chilli and fry till they become translucent .
            Grind the coconut and cumin seeds to a paste by adding little water . Set aside .


            Throw the tomatoes and cook till soft .


            Add the prawns , salt , turmeric powder and red chilli powder and fry for few seconds . Add the ground coconut to the masala and mix .


            Add the water and bring the contents to a boil . Cook till the oil separates out .


            Serve hot with Steamed Rice , or paratha , idly dosai or rotis .


            Yummy curry is ready to serve .

            Roasted Pumpkin Seeds / Oven Roasted Pepitas

            My daughter got this recipe form her Kinder garden teacher after they went for a fall trip for picking pumpkins . I was very surprised to hear at first  that the pumpkin seeds are edible , but This is truly a gulit free snack and highly nutritious too. Off to the recipe suggested by my 5 yr old daughter .

            Roasted Pumpkin Seeds / Oven Roasted Pepitas


            Ingredients:

            • Pumpkin Seeds of 1 Whole pumpkin
            • Oil - Few Drops
            • Chilli Powder - To Taste
            • Salt - To taste


                Method:

                Take out the Pumpkin seeds from the pumpkin , It was kind of Sticky , Scoop out the entire Seeds . Wash them thoroughly and pat them dry on a paper towel .

                In a mixing plate , take the seeds and drizzle few drops of oil , and add the chilli powder and salt and mix .


                Preheat the oven to 375 F . Line the baking tray with Aluminum foil and spread out the seeds on the foil . Bake them for 10 minutes .


                The oven roasted Seeds are ready to serve .


                Enjoy this nutritious Snack .

                Paneer Paratha / பன்னிர் பரோட்டா

                Paneer Paratha / பனீர் பரோட்டா


                Ingredients:

                For the Dough:

                • Wheat Flour / Aatta -  2 cups
                • Oil - 1 tsp
                • Salt - To taste
                • Water - As required

                For the Filling:

                • Paneer - 200 Gms , Crumbled
                • Peas - 1/2 Cup , cooked ( I used frozen peas ) , { Optional }
                • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
                • Green chilli Paste - 1 tsp
                • Salt - To taste
                • Oil - 1 tsp

                   
                  Paneer Paratha / பனீர் பரோட்டா


                  Method :

                  In a Mixing Bowl , add the Wheat flour , oil , salt and knead them in to a soft dough . Set aside .






                  In a Kadai , heat oil , add the ginger garlic paste , chilli paste and throw in the cooked peas and stir .



                  Now add the crumbled paneer , salt and cook for few minutes . Turn off . Allow the contents to cool completely .




                  Take a small piece of the dough , dust some flour and roll out in to a very small circle .


                  Take the masala, make in to a small ball that fits inside the dough and place it in the middle .



                  Gather the edges of the paratha , and pleat them over the filling . 



                  Similarly complete the filling for all the remaing dough .


                  Take the filled dough , dust with flour and roll out to a paratha of desired thickness .



                  Heat the tawa and cook the paratha .


                  Flip it to the other side and cook as well .





                  Serve hot with Raitha and some pickle .


                   To Freeze the Paratha :

                  Allow the parathas to completly cool down .Stack the parathas . Cover them with the foil and freeze .


                  Use as desired . Take the freezed paratha and put it on a heated tawa and cook for 2 minutes , one minute for each side .

                  The parathas will be super fresh .  My Kid love this dish too.

                  BITTER GOURD DHAL ( DAL ) RECIPE | பருப்பு பாவற்காய்

                  Bitter Gourd Dhal ( Dal ) is a simple and a easy recipe made with lentils and Bitter gourd and tempered with aromatic spices . This bitter Gourd Dhal ( Dal )  is best served with Steamed Rice and Rotis or Parathas . So now off to Today's post Bitter Gourd Dhal ( Dal ) Recipe .

                  Ingredients:


                    • Moong Dhal - 1/2 cup
                    • Tomato - 1 no , diced
                    • Green Chilli - 1 no , Slit
                    • Turmeric Powder - 1 pinch
                    • Hing - 1 pinch
                    • Salt - to taste

                    Tempering:

                    • Oil - 1 tsp
                    • Onion - 1 no , Chopped
                    • Bitter Gourd - 1 no , Chopped
                    • Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp

                    Method:


                    • In a pressure Cooker add the moong dhal , tomato , green chilli , turmeric powder , and hing and cook for 2 hisses .Set aside .


                    • In a Frying pan , add oil , throw in mustard seeds and allow it to crackle , add the urad dhal and red chilli  and fry for few seconds .Add the onions and bitter gourd and salt .Cook till they turn soft .


                    • Transfer these contents to the dhal and mix  . Allow these contents to boil for few minutes ,. Turn the Bitter gourd Dhal ( Dal ).

                    • Done ! Yummy Bitter Gourd Dhal ( Dal ) is ready to serve .

                    Mango Ice Cream Recipe ( No Ice cream Maker , No Eggs )


                    Egg less Mango Ice Cream Recipe  ( No Ice cream Maker )

                    Ingredients:

                    • Mango Pulp - 1/2 cup ( I used the Canned pulp , but the fresh ones could be pureed to pulp as well )
                    • Heavy Whipping cream - 1 cup
                    • Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
                    • Sugar - to taste
                    Method: 

                    In a Mixing bowl , add the  whipping cream , sugar and vanilla Essence .


                    Using a beater Whisk them .


                    Add the Mango Pulp and continue to whisk .










                    Transfer this to a freezing bowl and freeze it for 2 hours .


                    Remove from the freezer , transfer the half set contents to the mixer and mix it well .





                    Transfer these contents to the freezing bowl and freeze it for over night . Enjoy the scoop after the ice cream gets well set .


                    My kids and my whole family Loved this .
