Plantain Chops / Valakkai Podimas / வாழைக்காய் பொடிமாஸ் |
- Raw Banana / Plantain - 1 no , chopped in to very small squares
- Chopped Onion - 1 no,
- Red Chilli powder - 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal- 1 tsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Salt - to taste
Add the cubed plantain in water , so that it does not turn black colour Set aside .In a kadai, heat oil add mustard seeds and urad dal and allow it to splutter. Now add onions and stir and cook till it becomes soft.
Add Chopped Plantain , turmeric, and red chilli powder, salt and toss .
Cook till the plantain become crispy .Allow it to be roasted and till it turns golden brown in color .
Serve hot with Steamed Rice and curry of your Choice .
