Paneer mutter recipe | Paneer Peas Masala

Ingredients:

To Roast and Grind:

  • Cashew- 10 nos
  • Onion - 1 no ,chopped
  • Tomato - 2 no, chopped 
  • Red chilli powder -1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
  • Oil - 2 tsp

To Make the Gravy:

  • Green Peas - 1/2 cup ( Fresh or Frozen )
  • Paneer - 250 gms
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder -1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds  -1/2 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Yogurt - 1 tbsp
  • Kasthoori Methi Powder -1 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Fresh Cream - 1/4 cup

Procedure:

Chop the Paneer in to small cubes. Add a spoon of oil,Stir fry the paneer in oil till they are slightly brown in color.

If using dry green peas, Soak overnight and cook it till soft  .I used the frozen peas for this recipe.

In a shallow pan add 2 tsp oil.Add the chopped onions , tomatoes,turmeric powder , Red Chilli powder and cashew  and cook till all of them turn soft.


Allow them to cool down a bit and Puree them in to a paste in a mixer.


In a shallow pan, add oil , add the cumin seeds ,ginger garlic paste ,and fry till the raw smell goes away .Transfer the ground puree from the mixer to the pan, add  garam masala powder, Yogurt , salt, little water and bring the contents to a boil .


Add the fried Panner cubes , Peas and the kasthoori methi powder and give a stir.


 Add the fresh Cream .Reduce the flame to low heat , and cook till the oil separates out from the gravy.



Serve hot with Naan , Flat breads
