Lemon rice /  Elumichai sadam  /  Nimbu Chawal


To Make Lemon Gravy for the rice:

Lemon Juice - 1/2 Cup

Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dhal -  1 tsp
Channa dhal- 1 tsp
Green Chilli -  2  nos slit
Oil- 2 tsp
Salt- To taste
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp

To Make Lemon Rice: 

Cooked rice - 2 cups
Oil- 1 tsp
Red chili- 2 nos
Urad dhal- 1/2 tsp
Channa dhal- 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp


To Make Lemon Gravy for the rice:

Lemon Gravy

Heat oil, Add the Mustard seeds and allow it to splutter .
Add the urad dhal, channa dhal and stir for a minute
Add the slit green chilli.
Now add the lemon juice , add salt, turmeric powder  and bring it to boil.
Simmer it in low flame and allow it to cook till oil separates out.

To Make Lemon Rice:

Lemon rice

Heat oil in a kadai, Add the mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
Add the urad dhal, channa dhal and red chilli and stir for a minute.
Add the cooked rice and stir.
Add the required amount of lemon gravy depending upon your sour taste and Keep stirring.
Mix well.Serve hot.
