Tofu Butter Masala / Tofu Curry

Tofu Butter Masala
Ingredients:

Cashew- 10 nos
Onion-1 no ,chopped
Tomato- 2 nos, chopped
Green chilli- 2 slit
Tofu - 250 gm
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder -1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Kasthoori Methi Powder - 1 tsp
Melted butter - 4 tbsp

Procedure:

Chop the Tofu in to small cubes.
Add a spoon of butter ,Stir fry the Tofu in butter till they are slightly brown in color in a griddle.




 In a shallow pan add 2 tsp butter .Add the chopped onions , tomatoes , turmeric powder and cashew and cook till all of them turn soft.
Puree them in to a paste in a mixer.
In a shallow pan, add butter , add the cumin seeds ,slit green chilli ,ginger garlic paste .
Transfer the ground puree from the mixer to the pan, add chilli powder, coriander powder , garam masala powder,salt,little water and bring it to boil.
Add the fried Tofu cubes and the kasthoori methi powder and give a stir .
Add the remaining butter.
Reduce the flame to low heat , and cook till the butter separates out from the gravy.



Serve hot with rice, and roti.

  3. I am impressed with your take on the paneer butter masala. Tofu butter masala seems like perfect substitute for those having intolerance to milk. Well done my dear :)
