Turnip Stew / Turnip Korma / Nukal Kurma

Turnip Stew / Turnip Korma / Nukal Kurma
Ingredients:

Turnip - 1 no , Diced
Carrot - 5 no , Baby carrot , chopped (optional )
Onion - 1 no , chopped
Green chilli - 4 no
Garlic - 3 pods
Ginger - 1.5 inch piece , chopped
Oil - 2 tsp
Mint powder - 1 tsp
Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
Cinnamon stick - 1 stick
Cloves - 2 no
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1/4 tsp
Bay leaf - 1 no
Aniseed - 1 no
Salt - to taste

Procedure:

Heat oil in a pressure cooker , add the spices like cinnamon, cloves , bay leaf ,aniseed and stir .


Add the chopped onions and cook till it become soft .


Now add the chopped turnip , baby carrots , mint powder and stir .


Grind together coconut , ginger , garlic , green chilli , fennel seeds , cumin seeds , little water and run in to a paste in a mixer. Transfer  the ground paste pressure cooker , add salt  and bring it to boil .pressure  cook the contents  for 1 whistle .





Serve hot with Roti , Appam , Dosai , Idly .
