Spanish Mackerel Fry / Vanjiram Meen Varuval



Ingredients:
Spanish Mackerel fish - 1 no , Cleaned and cut in thin slices
Red chilli powder-2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Curd - 2 tsp
Oil - For Frying
Salt   As per taste

Preparation:

How to Choose fresh fish  :

We generally buy fish from Asian market.To check for fresh fresh,
Look at the gills. They should be a rich red. If the fish is old, they will turn the color of faded brick.

Recipe:

 Take the cleaned fish or fillets in a bowl / Plate .Add red chili powder , turmeric powder , curd , salt,mix well.


Coat the fish with masala well.Leave it aside for an hour.



Heat oil in kadai,drop the fish pieces in oil .
Cook on both sides till it turns golden brown in colour.



Serve hot with steamed rice and a curry or as a starter .
