Radish Leaves Curry / Mullangi Elai Kootu |
Ingredients:
Moong dhal - 1 cup
Onion - 1 no , chopped,
Tomato - 1 no , chopped
Green chilli - 2 no, slit
Garlic pods - 2 no , crushed
Salt - to taste
Radish leaves - a bunch, chopped.
Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
Hing - 1 pinch
Water - 2 cups
Tempering:
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad dhal - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli - 1 no
Procedure:
I want to farmers market last week and saw these fresh radish bunch . After I came home, I cleaned the radish and freezed the leaves.
In a pressure cooker , add the washed moong dal , tomato , onion , green chilli , garlic pods , 2 cups water, turmeric powder , hing and pressure cook for 2 whistles .
In a shallow pan , heat oil , add the mustard seeds and allow it to Pop.Add the cumin seeds and urad dhal .
Now add the chopped radish leaves and cook till leaves become soft .
Transfer this cooked leaf to the pressure cooked dhal
Add salt , Mash it well , and bring it to boil.Cook for 5 minutes and put off the flame.
