Sponge Dosa / Poha Dosa / Awal Dosa / atukula attu |
- Rice - 2 cups
- Poha / Rice flakes / Awal - 1/2 cup
- Salt - to taste
- Butter Milk - 4 cups
- Baking Soda - 1/4 tsp
Method:
In a mixing bowl add the rice and rice flakes .
Add the thick butter milk , mix well .
Cover with the lid . Set aside over-nite for for 8 - 10 hrs. Let it foam .
Transfer it to a blender and grind it well .
The batter will be thinner than the dosa batter . Add some salt and baking soda and mix well .
Heat an iron tawa . Pour a ladeful of batter , and do nor spread it . It will spread automatically .
Drizzle some oil around the edges . Cover with the lid and allow it to cook well .
There will be holes formed on the dosa and it is spongy soft .
Enjoy with chutney of your choice .

ReplyDeleteIt can be used like the regular dosa batter . Store it in the refrigerator and use it for a week .
