GREEN CHUTNEY RECIPE | CORIANDER CHUTNEY | KOTHAMALLI CHUTNEY ( CILANTRO )

Green Chutney is one of my favorite chutney served best with  Idli  and Dosa Recipes . The Green chutney is made with Cilantro and coconut as the main ingredient . so now off To today's Post Green Chutney Recipe .

Green Chutney Recipe
GREEN CHUTNEY RECIPE |  CORIANDER CHUTNEY |  KOTHAMALLI CHUTNEY ( CILANTRO )

Ingredients:

 Preparation Time : 15 minutes | Cooking Time : 15 minutes
Recipe Category: Condiments | Recipe Cuisine: South Indian

  • Cilantro / Coriander leaves / Kothamalli - 1 bunch , Cleaned and chopped
  • Urad Dhal - 1 tablespoon
  • Green Chilli - 2 number
  • Garlic pods - 2 numbers
  • Tamarind pulp - a Very small piece .
  • Oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Grated Coconut - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste

Tempering:


  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red Chilli - 1 number , split
  • Urad dhal - 1/2 teaspoon

Method:


Heat oil in a wok , add the urad dhal and fry till it turns golden brown in color . Now add the green chilli , garlic pods , tamarind pulp ,  and fry for few minutes .



Now add the Cilantro leaves .


Cook till the leaves become soft .  Turn off and allow the contents to cool a bit


Transfer the contents to a mixer , add the grated coconuts, salt  and run in to a paste by adding little water .


Add some oil in a pan , add the mustard seeds and allow it to pop , add the urad dhal and red chilli and fry them for few seconds.


Transfer these contents to the pureed  coriander and serve . I like to a have a watery chuteney so i added some water . Green Chutney is ready to serve .
