Ingredients:


  • Chicken - 250 gms , cleaned and chopped
  • Onion - 1 no , chopped
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - To taste
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
To Roast and Grind:

  • Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Whole red chilli - 6 no
  • Coriander Seeds - 3 tsp
  • Pepper Corns - 1 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds - 2 tsp

Method: 

Dry Roast all the contents  under the "TO Roast and grind table" in a hot tawa for few seconds and grind it to a paste by adding little water . Set aside .




Add the turmeric Powder to Cleaned chicken , Mix well . Set aside for 30 minutes .



Heat oil in a heavy pan , add the diced onion and cook till it become soft .




Throw in the chicken . Add salt and mix .





Add the ground puree from the mixer ,  little water and bring the contents to a boil . Allow them to boil for 10 minutes in open pan , so that the raw masala smell goes away .




Cover the lid and cook for few minutes till the oil seperates out from the curry and that the chicken is cooked tender .



Serve hot with steamed rice , Idly, dosai or roti and parathas

  4. Thank you for this recipe but I have a question. The photo shows ginger and garlic but they are not listed in the ingredients? Should they be in the recipe? Thanks. Nuclear Nana

    1. @Anon , I just used Ginger and garlic for styling the photo , I did not use them in grinding nor making this curry .Thhis version does not require ginger & garlic
