Tindora Fry / Kovakkai Poriyal / Ivy Gourd Fry / கோவைக்காய் வறுவல் |
Ingredients:
- Kovaikkai / Tindora / Ivy gourd -1 cup ,Chopped
- Onion -1 no , chopped
- Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Salt - to taste
Method:
In a kadai, heat oil.Add the mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.Add urad dal and stir for few seconds.
Now add the onions and cook till it becomes soft.
Add the chopped kovaikkai ( Tindora ) , salt, turmeric and Red chilli powder and sprinkle little water to make the kovaikkai cook well.
Serve hot with Steamed rice and curry of your choice .
Simple and healthy stir fry.. Looks yum!
