Green Tomato Curry / Pachai Thakkali Kulambu

Green Tomato Curry

We harvested few green tomatoes from my patio garden and made this recipe .

From My Patio Garden

Ingredients:

Green Tomato - 5 no , chopped
Onion - 1 no , chopped
Tomato - 1 no , diced
Tamarind juice - 1/4 cup
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad dhal - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp

Salt - to taste

Method :


Heat   Oil in a kadai , add the mustard seeds and allow it to pop . Now add the urad dhal and fry till it turns brown in color .


Add the chopped onions and cook till it becomes translucent .


Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook till it becomes soft .


Now add the chopped green tomatoes and stir . Add the chilli powder ,coriander powder,   turmeric powder, salt and stir .


Add the tamarind juice and bring it to boil .


Cook till the oil separates out from the gravy .


Serve hot with Steamed Rice .
