Potato pepper fry | Urulaikilangu puttu | உருளைக்கிழங்கு புட்டு

Potato Pepper Fry Recipe
Potato pepper fry /  Urulaikilangu puttu / உருளைக்கிழங்கு புட்டு

Ingredients:

  • Boiled potatoes - 3 no , mashed
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Onion - 1no, chopped
  • cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • pepper powder - 2 tsp
  • Red chilli - 3 no
  • Hing - 1 pinch
  • Salt - to taste

Preparation:

In a heavy bottom pan , add oil, allow the mustard seeds to pop and add urad dal, split red chilli and fry . Add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell goes away . Now  add onions and cook till it becomes translucent .


Now add the mashed boiled potatoes and add cumin and pepper powder , hing  ,salt  .


cook till the  potatoes are roasted a little and become dry .



Serve hot with steamed rice and curry of your choice .

  1. Simplicity is the best option sometimes. I can see how the simple ingredients has brought on great flavors to potatoes which we can eat without complaining.
