SUGARCANE JUICE RECIPE | KARUMBU JUICE RECIPE

Sugar Cane juice ( Karumbu juice )  is my favorite juice since child hood . Sugar cane juice is a common street food in India . I have seen this juice being made using machines , and this recipe is my humble attempt using the blender . Off to Today's post Sugar Cane juice Recipe .

SUGARCANE JUICE RECIPE | KARUMBU JUICE RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • Sugar Cane  -2 cups , Skin peeled and  Chopped in to small pieces
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger piece - 1/2 ' inch , chopped
  • Sugar - To Taste ( Optional )



    Method :

    • Take the Sugar Cane log and break them in to small logs .


    • Peel the skin using a heavy knife . ( They are really hard to peel )


    • Chop them in to small chunks .


    • Transfer the chunks to the blender . Add 1 cup of water , Lemon juice , and chopped ginger and some sugar .


    • Grind them well to a puree for few minutes .



    • Filter the juice using a sieve cloth to remove the husk from the clear juice .


    • Discard the husk . Clear juice is ready . Add some Ice cubes if needed .


    • Sugarcane juice is ready to be served . 


    • Done !! Enjoy 

    Notes :

    • The sugar cane should be chopped in very small pieces and then only it should be blended .
    • Add sugar if needed .
    • To get the sugar cane juice of good concentration blend the extracted juice over and over again and then discard the husk .

    2. Wow! Hats off to you for trying this in the blender.. I would have never thought of trying just coz it's so hard peeling the skin off.. The sugar cane juice is oh so yummy!!!

    5. I have never thought of making at home. Though it spoils the mixie. Yours is tempting .. too good . loved the ginger lemon idea.
