Raw Banana Fry
Raw Banana stir fry / Plantain poriyal / Valakkai Poriyal / வாழைக்காய் பொறியல்

Ingredients:

  • Raw Banana / Plantain - 1 no , chopped in to cubes 
  • Chopped Onion - 1 no, chopped
  • Sambar powder - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal- 1 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste

Preparation:

Add the cubed plantain in water , so that it does not turn black colour .



In a kadai, heat oil add mustard seeds  and urad dal and allow it to splutter
Now add onions and stir and cook till it becomes soft.

Add Chopped Plantain , turmeric, and sambar powder, salt and sprinkle little water and toss .


Cook till the plantain become soft .Allow it to become dry and roast it till it turns golden brown in color .

Serve hot with steamed rice and a curry of your choice .

  2. This recipe is very tempting! I think this recipe was made for kids because kids love eating fruits like banana. I will try to cook this soon for my kids. Thanks for sharing!
