Cauliflower Chickpeas Masala / Gobi Chole Masala

Cauliflower Chickpeas Masala / Gobi Chole Masala

Ingredients:

Onion-1 no ,chopped
Tomato- 2 nos, chopped
Chick peas - 1 /2 cup ( Boiled ) , I used 1 tin
Cauliflower - 1 small flower , cut in to florets
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder -1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
 Salt - to taste
Yogurt - 2 tbsp
Kasthoori Methi Powder - 1 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Garlic - 4 pods
Ginger - 2 ' piece, chopped
Cinnamon stick - 1 no
Cloves - 2 no
Bay leaf - 1 leaf

Method:
Boil the Chick peas and chop the cauliflower to florets . I skipped the boiling part because i used 1 tin of boiled chick peas available in the super market.

In a shallow pan add 3 drops of oil and fry onion, tomato , ginger and garlic till the onion and tomatoes become soft .

Transfer these contents to a mixer and puree them to a paste by adding little water .

In a shallow pan , heat the reaming oil and fry the cinnamon, bay leaf and cloves .

Add the cauliflower and fry in oil till slightly brown in color . Now add the pureed paste to the pan . Add chilli powder, turmeric powder , coriander powder , garam masala powder , curd and salt and bring it to boil .

Cook till the cauliflower becomes tender  . Now add the chick peas , kasthoori methi powder and give a gentle stir.

Cook till the oil separates out from the Gravy . Serve hot .

This is an awesome side dish to Batura  , puri , roti , Naan , Kulcha and also with steamed rice .
